Religious Education in Practice
Involvement in the wider school community
East Crompton St. George’s C of E Primary School regards itself as a valuable member of the local, national and world-wide community.
We work in close relationship with this community in a number of ways.
Some of these include:
Visits to St. James’ Church and St. Saviours’ Church by pupils for whole school / class celebrations.
Ash Wednesday Service at St. James’ Church.
Visits to other religious buildings
Regular visits to school from clergy
Reception and Year 1 learning about the special clothing worn by Reverend Lynne and about Baptism.
Grow and Bloom event to celebrate the completion of the building work and the new classrooms.
Christingle Service at school.
Remembrance wreaths laid at Shaw memorial and at St. James’ Church – Children in school donated to the Royal British Poppy Appeal by buying poppies and other merchandise.
Children and their families kindly donated toys to children in the local area.
Children In Need
Children made a donation to design their own t-shirts.
Children donated so they could “put on a funny face”
The junior choir were invited to sing at Shop Direct and were rewarded with a special gift from a special visitor
A big thank you to all our families who have supported these events through their donations and their attendance. We would also like to thank the parents and carers who have accompanied our children on their visits in and around the local area. Your help is greatly appreciated.
