Year 3- Miss McConnell

Welcome to Year 3M, Miss McConnell's class

Year 3 is an exciting time, when children make the transition from KS1 to KS2.  We have had a fantastic year so far and have been studying topics such as The Stone Age, Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Move to the Mersey Beat.

Here is where we will share our achievements and fun learning with you.

Please keep checking our page for regular updates to see what we have been getting up to.

Year 3's topic for this half term is Habitat Explorers and we are looking at animals in their natural habitats.

Here are the Year 3 and 4 common exception word list, these have been handed out to your children throughout the year. It is important that they are reading and spelling them regularly as they are required to be able to read and spell them all by the end of year 4. Any practise using these words will be extremely beneficial for your child.

Help your child's learning journey

This term our topic is Habitat Explorers, we are looking at different animals and their habitats and will hopefully be ending the topic with an exciting trip. We will send a letter out about this in due course.

We encourage children's enthusiasm for home learning and delving deeper into our topics.
Here is a link that you and your child can use to find out more about our topic or simply type the title into google:

In year 3 it is extremely important that we are learning our 3, 4 and 8 times tables and can recall them mentally. Ensure that your child is practicing these every evening along with their reading and spellings.
