Friday Update Email 25th September 2020

30 September 2020 (by Sasha Wedge (swedge))

Dear Parent/ Carer,

Drop off and collection times

Please find attached an important letter from Mrs Ross. This letter details changes to our drop off and collection times from next Monday.

Homework and Home Learning

Copies of the homework takeaway menus are now available on the school website:

Each class page now also has links to online learning projects if your child must self-isolate.

From Mrs Ross’ letter on the 18th September:

“This will enable your child to continue accessing learning which is linked to the learning taking place in class even if they are unable to attend school. On your child’s class page, on our website, you will find a table which breaks the half term down into weekly/daily slots. This will offer direct access to the Oak Academy Learning modules which have been linked specifically to the learning taking place in class during the week. This is not the same learning as in school but will support children in being able to learn the same concepts. Even if your child is not absent from school, you can use the links to support their learning further at home.”

School dinners

Just a reminder that all children in Reception – Year 2 are eligible for free school meals. The school kitchen is now serving hot meals for our children and we know these free meals can save families a lot of money spent on packed lunches!

If your child is in Year 3-6 and is also on our Free School Meals register, but is currently having packed lunches, we will be in touch next week to remind you that your child is eligible for them.

If you wish to move your child onto school dinners from next week, please text school on the number we text you on or email parents@stgeorges-primary.org to confirm.

If you pay for your child’s school dinners, please can we remind parents that cash payments should be paid weekly (£12) or they should be paid for by bank transfer half termly. More information is available on the school website here:

A polite reminder to parents with children in club that September’s payments were due by today. Please ensure any outstanding payments are made as soon as possible. Miss Monaghan will be able to inform you of your balance if you are unsure.

Please can we also ask that all parents inform club with at least one week’s notice if your child is not going to attend a session you have booked, or if you require extra sessions. It is not possible for us to accept frequent changes without notice.

The NHS launched their free COVID 19 app this week to support contact tracing. More information can be found on the website below:

Please also see the attached letter from the NHS about when you should book a test for your child.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend,

Kind regards,

Miss S Wedge
