Friday Update email 2nd October 2020

7 October 2020 (by Sasha Wedge (swedge))

Dear Parent/ Carer

Drop off and collection times

Thank you for helping us with the changes to our drop off and collection times this week. We are pleased with how these are working and therefore they will stay in place for the foreseeable future. Thank you for also wearing face coverings and keeping your distance while walking around the one way system.

Just a reminder to please be considerate of our neighbours when parking around the school area. Please remember that our site is also accessible from the Grains Road gate.

Celebration Assembly & Collective Worship

Friday afternoons would usually be a time for us to come together and celebrate the achievements of our children in the past week. Although we are unable to run these assemblies now, we still want your children to feel rewarded and appreciated.

Our classes have taken part in their own assemblies today in the classrooms. Any children who are rewarded “star of the week” will take home the usual postcard, and alongside those with work in the Light Book, will earn an ECSTG '£1' which can be saved to purchase something from the ECSTG shop.

We are pleased that Reverend Dave Woodall is also creating some collective worship videos for the children to watch every Tuesday.

Home Learning

The latest home learning will be added to the class pages on the school website ready for Monday. We hope these have been helpful this week!

We are happy to say that some of the music lessons have begun to take place in school again. If your child took their flute home last year before school closed, please return it to school next week so that they can be returned to the Oldham music service.

Just to let you know there are some places available in both our morning and afternoon clubs. If any parents are expecting to go back into work soon and require childcare, please get in touch.

Flu Vaccinations

As emailed earlier this week, the consent form for nasal flu vaccinations is now live on the following link:

Please complete this form by no later than the 26th October. If you are having any trouble with completing this, please get in touch with the IntraHealth team on 0333 358 3397.

The vaccinations will happen in school on Tuesday, 3rd November.
